Mads Tolling & The Mads Men: Playing the 60s
Mads Men featuring Mads Tolling, violin and guest vocalist Kenny Washington
“A wonderful new voice on the violin…very refreshing!”
Two-time Grammy Award winner Mads Tolling is celebrating the music of the 1960s “Mad Men” era with his own distinctive style and flair. With an exciting show that touches on the nostalgic with timeless Hollywood themes and celebrated songs ranging from "Mission Impossible," "The Pink Panther," and "Meet the Flintstones" to "Georgia on My Mind" and "A Taste of Honey," Mads will take us places we didn't know a violin could go.
Joining Mads on this journey through the 60s are world-class musicians Colin Hogan on piano and accordian, Josh Thurston-Milgrom on bass, Eric Garland on drums, and guest vocalist Kenny Washington.
Vocalist Kenny Washington
Recently dubbed “the Superman of the Bay Area jazz scene” (San Francisco Chronicle), Washington is a jazz virtuoso who thrills with his soulful interpretations, limitless range, and rapid-fire scatting. Ravi Coltrane has declared Kenny his favorite male vocalist, and Mark Murphy said in a Jazz Times interview that Kenny was the only contemporary male vocalist carrying on the tradition.
