Nicholas McGegan and a cast of international stars give the U.S. premiere of a groundbreaking new work written for the Philharmonia's period instrument and voices. In The Judas Passion, Scottish composer Sally Beamish and librettist David Harsent explore Judas in a more sympathetic light—offering a different perspective on the Last Supper and Jesus’ betrayer: from Judas’ sin to forgiveness and redemption. This provocative new Passion is accompanied by Telemann’s Tafelmusik.
Pre-Concert Talk: Join us at 6:45pm for a conversation with composer Sally Beamish and Bruce Lamott, director of the Philharmonia Chorale.
