This film project brings together Franz Osten's most acomplished Indian silent film from 1929 with Nitin Sawhney, one of the most influential and versatile creative music talents. Based on the pivotal gambling episode from the Mahabharata, A Throw of Dice tells the story of Ranjit and Sohan, two kings with a passion for gambling and the same woman, Sunita. Featuring a score by artist-in-residence by Nitin Sawhney and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Introduction to the film by composer, Nitin Sawhney, and Assistant Professor of Art and Art History, Usha Iyer. A discussion will follow after the screening.
