Join us for San Francisco Ballet’s long-awaited return to live performances, featuring a thrilling blend of poetry and athleticism. The two-performance program August 13–14 features George Balanchine’s transcendent, luminous Serenade, set to a soaring Tchaikovsky score, and Helgi Tomasson’s elegant and sleek The Fifth Season, set to music by Karl Jenkins. Three duets round out these brilliant summer evenings of ballet’s stars under the stars: Danielle Rowe’s powerful For Pixie, set to the music of Nina Simone; Balanchine’s high-spirited Tarantella, set to Gottschalk; and Tomasson's jubilant Soirées Musicales, set to Britten.
Starry Nights: SF Ballet’s Return to the Stage is made possible by sponsors Sue and John Diekman; Nancy Kukacka; and Akiko Yamazaki and Jerry Yang.
