The music of Joseph Haydn—the great architect of Classical form whose unparalleled output of sonatas, string quartets, and symphonies had a formative influence on his student Beethoven and countless other composers—is being featured throughout the 2014–15 season as part of a campus-wide project on Patronage and Enlightenment (see right page). The series of concerts will afford the opportunity to hear a broad selection of Haydn’s music, from large-scale choral and orchestral works to genre-defining string quartets and other chamber music. The three-part Haydn: Patronage & Enlightenment series begins on Friday, February 13 and concludes on Sunday, February 15.

Haydn: Patronage & Enlightenment is the first event in our Live Context: Art + Ideas series, which continues with a performance by the Nile Project and concludes with the word premiere of The Demo.

To learn more about the series and the free two-day conference surrounding Haydn on Feb 13 & 14, click here.
