Flamenco music, deeply passionate and tinged with improvisation, has long captivated jazz musicians, and pianist/composer Chano Domínguez is no exception. The program will be drawn from Chano’s Grammy–nominated album Flamenco Sketches—an Iberian-inflected tribute to Miles Davis—and will also include flamenco dancing and a new work written for his Piano Iberico ensemble.
