The St. Lawrence String Quartet, tenor Paul Groves, and pianist Laura Dahl for Ralph Vaughaun William’s lush song cycle, “On Wenlock Edge,” based on A. E. Housman’s wistful poems about growing up in the English countryside. Then, cellist Michael Kannen, Asbjørn Nørgaard (viola), violist Maria Lambros, violinist Owen Dalby, and Danish Quartet members Frederik Øland (violin) perform Mozart’s second “viola quintet”--a stormy work in one of classical music’s most brooding keys: G minor.
