One of the world’s greatest percussionists, the wizardly Indian tabla player and composer Zakir Hussain is a virtuoso improviser who is at home in the realms of ancient North Indian music and also explores new veins of expression with major artists as varied as guitarist John McLaughlin, drummer Mickey Hart, banjoist Béla Fleck, and bassist Edgar Meyer.
