In the Australian Chamber Orchestra, founded in 1975, all the players except the cellists stand, all concert long—they’re full of energy and ready to take on anything. The afternoon’s offerings, played on period instruments (including priceless Guarneris and Strads) will include the U.S. premiere of Samuel Adams’s Concerto Grosso (a Stanford Live co-commission); Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 12 in A Major, K313 with Paul Lewis, piano; and Brahms’ Sextet in G Major, op. 36, arranged for string orchestra.
Generously supported by Trine Sorensen and Michael Jacobson
