Every Body Move

Led by Ethel Calhoun of Camille A. Brown & Dancers | K-12 Teacher Workshop
Weds, Feb 24, 2027 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM
The Studio

This professional development workshop equips educators with practical Every Body Move (EBM) strategies rooted in Camille A. Brown & Dancers’ culturally inclusive curriculum. Led by Ethel Calhoun, the session explores approaches for creating engaging, affirming learning environments that reflect students’ diverse identities, experiences, and perspectives. Educators will leave with adaptable tools and strategies they can integrate into their classrooms and everyday teaching practice.

Ethel Calhoun has over 20 years of performance and dance instruction, from the community level to the New York stage. She serves as a teaching artist with both Camille A. Brown & Dancers and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, choreographing and teaching dance styles from West African Dance to liturgical dance and serving as a Community Facilitator for Camille A. Brown & Dancers’ signature Every Body Move program.

A member of the Screen Actor’s Guild and Actors Equity, Ms. Calhoun has entertained in 12 countries spanning 5 continents, and has appeared in episodes of “Law and Order” and various films. As a vocalist, she is a primary soloist with Abyssinian Baptist Church, has toured in many Gospel groups, and was featured in German and Austrian tours for three consecutive summers. Ms. Calhoun also works as a movement therapist and certified personal trainer, delivering rehabilitation approaches and promoting wellness and fitness through motion. As a teaching artist, Ethel’s classes are energetic, cultural, and fun!
