Grammy-nominated country blues artist Jontavious Willis leads an afternoon of music, storytelling, sharing, and learning—whether you bring an original song or a favorite standard. Bring your guitar and join the circle at Stanford’s cozy Coffee House (CoHo)!

A Georgia native, Willis began playing guitar as a teenager and was discovered by blues legend Taj Mahal, who invited him onstage after hearing him perform. Rooted in the sounds of traditional country blues, gospel, and folk, Willis is celebrated for his soulful vocals, expressive guitar playing, and fresh approach to an enduring musical tradition.

All playing levels are welcome. The event will be held at COHO, 459 Lagunita Dr., Stanford, CA 94305.

Fri, Oct 23, 2026 at 7:00 PM & 9:00 PM at The Studio Jontavious Willis: West Georgia Bluesman

Jontavious Willis reinvigorates today’s blues with the spirit of the past. Born and raised in rural Georgia, the Grammy-nominated artist performs original, toe-tapping tunes in the styles of Delta, Piedmont, Texas, and Gospel blues. Willis has been hailed by blues legend Taj Mahal as a “wonder boy,” and Blues Blast Magazine praised his “uncanny skills on the acoustic guitar,” calling him “a master of open-tuning fingerpicking techniques.” This concert draws from songs on his latest album, West Georgia Blues.
