Fritz Loewe's American Story

Fritz Loewe, a piano prodigy born and raised in Berlin, grew up in the world of the Viennese operetta. When he came to America, like so many immigrants he brought his European culture with him. After 20 years of unsuccessfully trying to make it in show business he finally met his legendary partner: Alan Jay Lerner: a scion of a wealthy New York Jewish family. Together they created an American version of the Viennese operetta that dominated the Broadway stage for decades.
