Sérgio and Clarice Assad in Recital

Thurs, Apr 1, 2027 at 7:30 PM
Bing Concert Hall

Brazilian father-daughter duo Sérgio and Clarice Assad continue their family’s legacy of collaborative, evocative music-making with their ongoing collaboration. Sérgio is a renowned guitarist and composer, best known to American listeners through his decades-long partnership with his brother Odair Assad. He brings generations of Assad family members together in this collaborative venture with Clarice, a Grammy-nominated composer, pianist, and vocalist with a diverse stylistic range. Across their partnership, the Assads have performed a century of Brazilian music, reimagining old classics and creating new works that convey the warmth, intimacy, and intricacies of their family’s musical and cultural legacies.

Recent Stanford graduate and award-winning guitarist Eric Wang will open this performance with a selection of works including Sérgio Assad’s Danza de los Vientos.
