David Byrne is a Scottish-born American musician, composer, and artist best known as the founding member and frontman of Talking Heads, the pioneering New Wave band, whose adventurous fusion of art-rock, funk, and global rhythms shaped modern music.

After closing the chapter on his acclaimed American Utopia era—spanning an album, world tour, Broadway run, and Grammy Award-winning HBO film—Byrne began a new musical chapter that led to Who Is the Sky?, a cinematic and playfully experimental album created with Kid Harpoon and Ghost Train Orchestra. Featuring guests like Hayley Williams, St. Vincent, and Tom Skinner, the record deepens Byrne’s lifelong curiosity about human connection, identity, and the beautifully absurd, blending intimate orchestral textures with the inventive spirit that has defined his work across decades.
