Stanford Live decided to toast its neighbors to the north by bringing a few of them south for a Canada Day celebration on July 1. Other summer series highlights included an Austrian-themed evening with the brass band Federspiel in the Bing lobby; a journey back to the 1960s featuring Music of Woodstock, in a special outdoor concert on the Bing’s east lawn; and world music luminaries Youssou N'Dour and Betsayda Machado.
