Know Before You Go: Your Ultimate Guide to Attending a Stanford Live Performance

January 6 2025

Stanford Live presents live performances year-round via five venues on the Stanford campus.

We know that attending a performance is more than just showing up. From the ticket buying process, dining before and after the event, to parking—we're here to make sure your time on campus is as memorable as the show.

To make your experience as seamless as possible, we've answered your most frequently asked questions below!

What are nearby dining options before or after the show?
Downtown Palo Alto is just a 10 minute drive from Bing Concert Hall. Most restaurants are located on or near University Avenue. Food options range from simple to extravagant. Whether you're craving Italian pasta or eager to sample new cuisines, downtown Palo Alto has something to satisfy every craving.

For a quick bite:

For your date night:

For the family:

For after the show:

As this is a popular neighborhood for dining out, parking can take a bit to find. However, most parking lots and street parking in this area are free up to 3 hours. We recommend allowing at least 90 minutes in downtown Palo Alto if you are having dinner to ensure you make it to the show on time.

Where can I see Stanford Live presentations?
Stanford Live presents out of five venues on the Stanford University campus:

  1. Bing Concert Hall at 327 Lasuen Street
  2. The Studio on the lower floor within Bing Concert Hall
  3. Frost Amphitheater at 351 Lasuen St
  4. Memorial Auditorium at 551 Jane Stanford Way
  5. Memorial Church at 450 Jane Stanford Way.

Can I get food or drinks at the venue?

For most events at Bing Concert Hall, beverages and small snacks are available for purchase before the show or during intermission. Concessions are available in The Studio during the performance.

Frost Amphitheater has multiple food and drink locations throughout the venue. Click here to see the menu.

There are no concessions offered at Memorial Church or Memorial Auditorium.

Where do I park?

Parking for the Stanford Live Ticket Office and events at Bing Concert Hall and The Studio can be found on Lasuen Street, Museum Way, Roth Way, and in Galvez Lot located at the corner of Campus Drive and Lasuen Street.

Please note: permit parking spots (lettered 'A' or 'C') on campus are free after 4:00 PM on weekdays and free at all times on weekends.

For select shows, additional parking may be available at the Galvez Lot and surrounding lots located at the corner of Campus Drive and Lasuen Street. For these lots, attendants will be present to help direct you.

For all shows, all ticket buyers will receive the most up-to-date information on parking and lot availability in a know-before-you-go email at noon the day before the performance.

Please allow 30 minutes to find parking and locate your seat before concert start time. Parking areas near performance venues may fill quickly, depending on the size of the event and other simultaneously occurring events on campus.

For events at Frost Amphitheater:
We recommend purchasing an event parking pass with your ticket. There is a very limited amount of free parking available around the venue that is expected to fill up quickly on a first-come, first-served basis. Event parking permits will available for the Galvez Lot and surrounding numbered lots.

Parking passes for shows co-presented with Goldenvoice can be purchased in advance through AXS. For all other Stanford Live shows at Frost Amphitheater, parking passes can be purchased in advance through the Stanford Live ticketing page.

Day-of parking passes can be purchased upon arrival at the parking lot. Please note: no cash accepted.

For events at Memorial Auditorium & Memorial Church:
We recommend patrons to park on Roth Way between Lasuen Street and Palm Drive. Additional parking is available in the Galvez Lot. Please allow extra time to park and walk to the venue as there is no parking available at Memorial Auditorium or Memorial Church.

Can I bike to the show?

Yes, Bing Concert Hall, The Studio, and Frost Amphitheater are bicycle-friendly with 244 racks located just out front.

Can I take public transit to a performance?

Stanford University is accessible by several transit agencies, making it possible to get to campus from just about anywhere. For full information about getting to Stanford campus on public transit, click here.
