Stanford Medicine Orchestra
The Stanford Medicine Orchestra launches its 2025–26 season with a vibrant program of symphonic masterworks conducted by Terrance Yan, highlighting themes of virtuosity and triumph.
Mozart’s The Magic Flute Overture begins the concert with radiant energy and a spirit of courage. The program continues with Dvořák’s Violin Concerto, a passionate showcase of lyricism and brilliance featuring violinist Derrick Wu, MD. The evening concludes with Tchaikovsky’s monumental Symphony No. 5, an emotional journey from darkness to triumph.
This powerful and uplifting program marks a compelling start to the new season and promises an evening of unforgettable music.
We warmly welcome young listeners to experience the joy of live orchestral music. Studies show that early exposure to concerts can nurture creativity and emotional growth in children. While we kindly ask parents and guardians to help minimize disruptions, we also thank all audience members for their understanding and support in creating a welcoming concert environment for everyone.
The concert will run approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission.
